As the San Diego Chapter, we were invited to attend the 2008 CDRF "Making Magic Happen" Gala in Beverly Hills in early December, honoring Sam Schmidt and Jane Seymour. A number of Hollywood celebrities were in attendance, supporting all with spinal cord injury and doing their part to build awareness. It was truly a magical evening!

As we begin the new year, we wanted to take a moment to look back on 2008. So many exciting things have happened, and the best is yet to come!

FPS 08The 7th Annual "Fore Pete's Sake" Golf Tournament was a huge success despite the weak economy, grossing almost $ 50,000! We can only thank you for making that happen through your donations of time, money, and encouragement. We were honored to have CDRF President & CEO Peter Wilderotter, VP of Research Susan Howley, and VP of Development Mark Watson in attendance, volunteering throughout the day and speaking to many of you that evening. And, of course, our NFL alumni joined us again this year - Thank you, Craig McEwen and Felix Giles for helping to make 2008 such a memorable year! We look forward to seeing all of you at the 8th Annual "Fore Pete's Sake" Tournament on Monday, September 21, 2009!

CDRF
As you all know, we are currently undergoing the transition from the QUAD Foundation to the San Diego Chapter of the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation (CDRF). We are so excited about taking this next step and are ready to hit the ground rolling! We were already able to give the CDRF a check for $ 30,000 in 2008 thanks to your generosity, and we would like to increase it to a total of $ 50,000 as we become the San Diego Chapter. If you are able to make a tax-deductible donation at this time to make that happen, please click the Donate Now button on the right or visit our website at www.quadfoundation.org.

We were honored to be invited to attend the 2008 CDRF Scientific Advisory Council meeting in November, giving us the opportunity to meet and learn from the top researchers of the spinal cord and spinal cord injury. What these men and women are doing in their labs is astounding, and we are bound to see promising results emerge in the near future!

Hope On WheelsHope On Wheels is gaining momentum - we have six new clients ready to ride the bike! It is only through the assistance of you that we are able to provide this service to them free of charge. On behalf of the QUAD Foundation and all of our clients, thank you!
